Archery Champion

There are several different types of Archer Champions known in the Middle Kingdom:

• Individual Baronies may have an Archery Champion, the Barony of Flaming Gryphon is unique in that it chooses separate Recurve and Crossbow champions annually.

• Kings and Queens will usually select a personal Archery Champion for the duration their reign. The position of the Royal Archery Champion varies with each royal couple. Most often the Champion serves in the same sort of capacity as the Rapier and Heavy Weapons champions and like his/her fellow champions is inducted into the Order of the Royal Vanguard at the end of the reign, though this is up to Royal discretion.

• Also every year the Archer General of the Middle Kingdom selects (with the input of the Crown) an Archery Champions team to compete at the Pennsic War.
