When her king was unable to attend an event at the last minute, Garlanda conducted Sir Wolfgang van der Lowen's elevation to the Order of the Chivalry. Her heir Sir Brannos placed his hand over hers on the sword of state, so that Sir Wolfgang's lineage descends from Brannos. Despite her best efforts, she did not cut off Sir Bardolph's ear when she drew Oathbinder from the scabbard that Bardolph was holding during that court.

Knights who are elevated to the Order by a Queen are sometimes known as a Knight of the Rose.
