The Crown

When speaking of The Crown this is a proper noun that refers to The King and Queen. Unless otherwise specified, this is always of the Kingdom one is in. For instance, when one hears, "Make way for The Crown" they are talking about the King and Queen of the Middle Kingdom. If you were talking about the King and Queen of Meridies for instance, you would specify "The Crown of Meridies".

The term The Crown refers more specifically to the office than the individual. For example, if he did not like the current King, Lord Calvin might say "I do not serve King Hobbs, but I will serve The Crown."
