About
Rivenvale is a Shire in the North Oaken Region of the Middle Kingdom. Geographically, Rivenvale is located in northeastern Ohio (Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties). It is bordered on the north by the Shire of Eastwatch and on the east by the Kingdom of Æthelmearc and on the south by the Barony of the Middle Marches and on the west by the Barony of Brendoken.

History
The Shire of Rivenvale became an official full status group In Anno Societatis XXXIX (A.S. 39 which translates to 2004) at the Midrealm Court at Pennsic 33.
The group originally only had armored combat as its core activity. Since then it has developed strengths in dancing, thrown weapons, bardic arts, brewing and vinting, and general arts & sciences.
Heraldry History
The name Shire of Rivenvale was registered with the SCA College of Heralds in October of 2002.
The heraldic device blazoned "Vert, on a pile throughout azure fimbriated, an angel statant to sinister maintaining a sword palewise argent and in dexter chief a laurel wreath Or." was registered in December of 2004 and was changed/retained in November of 2016.
The heraldic device was changed to the heraldic device blazoned "Vert, on a pile azure fimbriated and cotised argent a laurel wreath Or." in November of 2016.
The badge blazoned "Vert, on a pile throughout azure fimbriated, an angel statant to sinister maintaining a sword palewise argent and in dexter chief a laurel wreath Or." was registered in November of 2016.

As of April 2023 Rivenvale meets every Tuesday night at 6:30pm.

As of April 2014 Rivenvale meets every Tuesday night at 6 pm. The first meeting of the month is a business meeting and dance practice. Members are asked to bring a dessert, beverage, or snack to share if possible. Other weeks have various assigned arts and sciences topics and/or martial activity practices.
One business meeting of each quarter is designated a quarterly revel. The quarterly revel contains the regular business meeting, food, and dancing but also adds the aspects of garb and feast gear being requested. Besides this being a fun time of socializing, it provides newcomers the opportunity to better see what the SCA does. If the weather permits, sometimes the dancing is followed by a campfire with bardic activities.
Rivenvale schedules an event quarterly: Winter Wassail (was previously called Winter Revel), Spring Training, Saxon Summer, and Fall Bransle (pronounced "brawl").
Winter Revel was renamed because Rivenvale started to also host four quarterly revels in 2014 and an event named Winter Revel and a revel name Winter Quarter Revel was deemed confusing.
