About
The Marche of Gwyntarian is a Shire in the Barony of Brendoken in the North Oaken Region of the Middle Kingdom.
Geographically, Gwyntarian contains the city of Akron, OH and is bordered by the Barony of the Cleftlands and Shire of Eastwatch to the north, the shire of Rivenvale to the east, and the Marches of Thistle to the west and Alderford to the south.

- Arms/Device - Azure, two bars wavy argent, overall a laurel wreath vert, a chief nebuly argent.
- Badge (Musicians' Guild of Gwyntarian) - Per pale dovetailed gules and azure, a set of panpipes, a rebec affronty and a bow in saltire, and a tabor and drumstick Or.
- Badge (Weaver's Guild of Gwyntarian) - (Fieldless) A cross quadrate parted and fretted Or.
History
Formed around 1976 at Kent State University, the name in Welsh is "City of the White Shield". Gwyntarian was named a Marche in the Barony of the Middle Marches in 1986. Gwyntarian currently is one of four groups making up Brendoken, a confederation style Barony (no central prime city). Gwyntarian is comprised of the membership of Portage and Summit counties in Northeastern Ohio.
The group has traditional strengths in archery, brewing and vinting and general arts and sciences. Rapier has become exceptionally popular in the last 5 years. Armored weapons has also been a core activity since the group's formation.
Heraldry History
The name March of Gwyntarian was registered with the SCA College of Heralds in August of 1986.
The heraldic device was registered in March of 1983.
The badge for the Musicians' Guild of Gwyntarian was registered in June of 1983.
The badge for the Weaver's Guild of Gwyntarian was registered in August of 1984.
