About
Talonval is a Shire in the Pentamere Region of the Middle Kingdom. Talonvale is not within any Barony, as it follows to old conventions of a Shire reporting directly to Pentamere.
In mundane (modern) geographic terms, it encompases the city of Jackson and Jackson, Hillsdale, Lenawee Counties and environs, in southern Michigan.
Heraldry
- Arms/Device - Per chevron inverted Or and vert, an eagle's leg erased sable and a laurel wreath argent.
- Badge (Populace) - Per saltire Or and vert, an eagle's leg erased sable holding a step-cut gemstone azure.
History
Recently the Shire has been growing and this year has been involved in several [[demo][s and other [[event][s, plus has enjoyed greater student membership within Jackson Community College.
Heraldry History
The name Shire of Talonval was registered with the SCA College of Heralds in July of 1997.
The heraldic device blazoned "Per chevron inverted Or and vert, an eagle's leg erased sable and a laurel wreath argent." was registered in July of 1997.
The populace badge blazoned "Per saltire Or and vert, an eagle's leg erased sable holding a step-cut gemstone azure." was registered in August of 2020.
