Starleaf Gate

Starleaf Gate is a Shire in the Pentamere Region of the Middle Kingdom. The Shire of Starleaf Gate comprises Windsor, ON and Essex County, ON.

Our Members portray medieval lifestyles dating from late 700 AD to 1600 AD. Our displays include clothing, weapons, armor,fiber arts,calligraphy,illumination, household goods and much more. The success of our presentations depends heavily on the volunteer work of our members. Many ancient crafts cannot be learned quickly and require a substantial personal investment of time, and effort. We welcome all those that are interested in learning more about these things, OR would like to come and teach us in areas we are not currently covering.

Meetings and Practices

Shire Meetings - Currently being held at the Harmony in Action Center. 3335 Woodward Blvd, Windsor, ON N8W 2Y7.

Shire Armored Fighter Practice: Sundays (at Shire Meeting) from 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Warm up is optional and is before the official practice.

• Special Fight practice at the Moose Lodge. To be announced.

Shire Fencing Practice: See group for spontaneous practices. Sunday evening if there are enough people.

Shire Archery Practice: CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE SEE THE SHIRE OF STARLEAF GATE FACEBOOK PAGE FOR MEETING NIGHTS (SEASONAL from October to May). AMA Sportsmen's Association located on 468 Lowes Side Road, Amherstburg, ON. First visit to use the range is free, afterwards it is $5.00 for each visit.

Events

The Shire's traditional annual event is Clancy Day, usually held in the spring. It is a Grand event that has happened annually Since 1985 as far as we can find record of.
