Feast gear

From MiddleWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

All the eating and drinking gear one brings to an event's feast, simple or elaborate. Feasts are almost never served with plates, cups and the like. Guests are expected to provide their own.

Diners are encouraged to provide a table setting which is not obtrusively modern in appearance. Wooden or pewter plates, bowls and wine goblets are usually the first step. Experienced members may have more elaborate gear, perhaps ceramic dishes with their heraldic device, or carefully chosen pewter or silver chosen for resemblance to medieval or renaissance models. Some even make or are able to locate replicas, as with garb the amount of authenticity is up to each person to decide for themselves.
