About
Steren Codha is a Shire in the Constellation Region of the Middle Kingdom.
The shire includes the modern Indiana counties of Howard, Tipton, and part of Carroll. The meetings take place in Kokomo, Indiana.
Heraldry
- Arms/Device - Per pale azure and argent, two laurel wreaths and a shooting star counterchanged.
History
It was founded in the late 1980’s by largely three main groups of people: military members stationed at Grissom Air Force Base, a role playing game group, and actors and musicians from Kokomo Civic Theater. The shire is one of the only shires to have formed independently without breaking off from a previously existing group. Steren Codha’s name means “Shooting Star” in Cornish and was selected because of the original members’ strong interest in archery. It's first event was held in Flora, IN as an archery event called Slings and Arrows.
Heraldry History
The name Shire of Steren Codha was registered with the SCA College of Heralds in February of 1992.
The heraldic device blazoned "Per pale azure and argent, two laurel wreaths and a shooting star counterchanged." was registered in November of 1994.
