About

Donnershafen is the northernmost Barony in the Region of Pentamere in the Middle Kingdom, located along the shores of the Great Inland Seas.

On a modern map, Donnershafen is located in beautiful Northern Michigan encompassing the counties of Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Wexford, Missaukee, Otsgeo, Presque Isle, and Wexford.

When holding up a "handheld" map of Michigan, Donnershafen is most of the part that bends to wave goodbye.

History

The Shire of Donnershafen was elevated to the status of a Barony on September 30th, AS XLI (2006) at the court of Their Majesties Bardolph II and Brigh II at the Vikings Come Home XV event.

Heraldry History

The name Shire of Donnershafen was registered with the SCA College of Heralds. The name was changed to Barony of Donnershafen in October 2011.
The heraldic device was registered in January of 1994.
The badge for the Award of the Swan and Book was registered in October of 2011.
The badge for the Award of the Swan and Shield was registered in October of 2011.
