A Peer is someone who holds a Patent of Arms. There are two kinds of peers; Peers of the Realm and Royal Peers.

Peers of the Realm

These include:

• Companions of the Chivalry
  • Knights
  • Masters of Arms
• Companions of the Laurel
• Companions of the Pelican
• Companions of the Rose (if the Rose was accompanied by a Patent)

Royal Peers

These include:

• The royal family
  • King/Queen
  • Crown Prince/Crown Princess
  • Prince/Princess (of a Crown Principality)
  • Heir/Heiress (to the coronet of a Crown Principality)
• Duke/Duchess
• Count/Countess
• Viscount/Viscountess
