Drakelaw is boardered on the west by the Shire of the Dragonsmark, on the north by the Barony of Middle Marches, on the east by the Kingdom of Æthelmearc and the Kingdom of Meridies on the south. Events
In 2001, about a year after the shire was officially founded, the group was able to host an event with the assistance of the Barony of the Flame. The event was held at the Jenny Wiley State Park Lodge in south-eastern Kentucky. The event site was in view of Greenbo lake and had enough room to hold indoor and outdoor activities. The event was originally created as a dual-themed event where by the day's activity would be more of a 'Celtic Harvest' and the evening's activities would be the 'Winter Rose Ball'. It was hoped that by combining the two themes that the event would cater to the many interests in the shire and the populace of the region.
One of the more 'infamous' activities at the first event was the "Cow Battle" whereby some of the heavy fighters wore cow-print tabbards and had to be 'rescued' from raiders and brought back to their corral.
After the first event, the Celtic Harvest theme and the Winter Rose Ball were combined to simply become what was known as 'Winter Rose', an event held two weeks before Thanksgiving as a 'last event' before winter set in.
Demos
The shire held an annual summer demo, often in June, called "Dragon Under the Hill" or "Underhill" for short.
Activity
The shire had two main driving forces behind much of its activity; a stream of heavy weapons combatants and a veritable army of arts and sciences folk. The shire's weekly meeting was filled with tables of people working on or repairing armor, working on scribal or leather projects not to mention a fair number of woodworking endeavors.
The shire's Scriptorium had, at its height, over a dozen scribes turning out scrolls as gifts to the Barony of the Flame for their assistance in their yearly event, Winter Rose.
Pennsic
The shire attended Pennsic war, as a group, for the first time in 2001 at Pennsic 30. They were camped in a corner of N31 near the intersection of the two roads.
