The Honorable Company of Embroiderers is currently (as of October 2018) in the process of forming. The guild leader is Edward Brackenburye. The guild is modeled after the East Kingdom's Athena's Thimble Guild. See also the Guild Charter for the Honorable Company of Embroiderers

The Honorable Company of Embroiderers Panel Rankings

History of the Guild

Note: the Guild of Withie and Woolmongers, while primarily a fiber-arts (spinning and weaving) guild, included Embroidery.

There was a previous attempt to form a Kingdom Embroidery Guild (more information?)

August 2018 - Edward attended the Athena's Thimble meeting at Pennsic and fell in love. He contacted some of the noted embroiderers he knew with the idea of forming a similar guild in the Middle Kingdom.

October 13, 2018 - Guild interest meeting at Red Dragon. 9 attendees. Edward presented his first draft charter and idea of guild structure, attendees were all in favor of starting a guild!

October 15, 2018 - Facebook group created for the guild

October 20, 2018 - Second meeting at Crown Tournament, about the same number of attendees, however almost all new attendees.

December 3, 2018 - Guild officially named "The Honorable Company of Embroiderers"

December 9, 2018 - First "Panel" meeting at Mistress Cerridwen's home. 20 items were paneled and Edward Brackenburye and Cerridwen reached Journeyman status.

January 19, 2019 - Second Panel held at A Regular Event in Cleftlands, 10 pieces of embroidery were paneled. Milesent Vibert and Dulcia Wylde reached Journeyman status.

February 2, 2019 - Duke Cellach held a panel at Candlemas

May 24, 2019 - Guild meeting and panel at Royal University of the Midrealm/Midrealm 50 year celebration, 9 pieces paneled and 3 new panel administrators trained.


August 7, 2019 - Guild meeting and panel at Pennsic War

October 26, 2019 - Guild meeting at Royal University of the Midrealm, no panel done

February 29th, 2020 - Guild gathering work/social at Cleftlands Regular Event (No one knew this would be our last for a long time!)

February 26, 2022 - Guild meeting on line, decided that we could do working knowledge and competency rankings over zoom. Paneled 3 projects, all received competency.

March 28, 2022 - Guild meeting on line, mock panel ran to show new member how it works

April 9, 2022 - First in-person Guild meeting since 2020 at Dressed to Kill event in Cleftlands.

April 30th, 2022 - Guild panel held by Duke Cellach at the Dragon's Hoard event

May 31st, 2022 - on line guild meeting and panel

June 11, 2022 - in person Guild meeting and panel at Northern Oaken War Maneuvers event

June 27th, 2022 - on line guild meeting and panel

September 12, 2022 - on line guild meeting and panel

November 12, 2022 - In person guild meeting and panel at Royal University of the Midrealm

March 20th, 2023 - on line guild meeting and panel - Favor project kick off

April 24th, 2023 - on line guild meeting and panel, two pieces panneled for freeform working knowledge, Isobella Gray and Inga Skipbrot (both at their first meeting!) favor project discussed and how to do an Expert Panel.

May 27th, 2023 - guild display table at Kingdom A&S set up outside the main hall on the 'porch' area. Before court a guild meeting was held and we did our first ever Expert Panel, Edward Brackenburye was awarded Expert in Freeform embroidery. At court the guild presented 105 completed favors to Their Majesties.

June 10th, 2023 - guild meeting at Northern Oaken War Maneuvers

August 5th, 2023 - deadline to turn in favors at Pennsic War; guild records show 254 completed favors by approximately 39 people.
