About Choi Min

Joined the Society in 2017. His first event was Spring Coronation of William and Isolde, the 95th Reign of the Middle Kingdom.

Before Name Registration, he was previously using Choi Minha/Mina. Please no longer use that spelling.

Sometimes merchants and paints both folding fans and paddle fans, and other trinkets. Has been working to found a local group in the Central-Western Ohio rural area (Incipient name: Grenemere) around Lake Saint Marys since 2017. Has always been interested in the SCA for being a place he could delve into his love of Medieval Korean history. Currently lives in the Barony of Flaming Gryphon.

Choi Min is apprenticed to Aveline de Ceresbroch

Persona

Korean Noble-Scholar from broadly, Late Goryeo to Joseon. If there was a pinpoint, I would use King Sejong the Great’s reign for specifics ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sejong_the_Great ). Compiled from the literature and tv tropes of the Good-for-nothing Son of a Government Official, who could decently pass the government exams, but does squanders his potential, much to the chagrin of his parents. Instead of facing their lectures and matchmaking attempts, he frequents the gibang, where he associates with the gisaeng (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisaeng ) and they and his buddies convene there to pass the time on nobles’ salaries, writing poetry and talking gossip deep into the night, occasionally stumbling home the next morning. See Historical inspiration: Yi Kyubo ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yi_Gyubo ) To avoid his social responsibilities, sometimes he retreats to a hut in the mountains, named the Jeongyo (??/??). Often this retreat involves friends.

If you are a scribe reading this to figure out what sort of scroll to do - please do whatever you are best at! Both in and out of persona, he loves collecting medieval European arts and knickknacks as well.
