Persona

Tórstein Hartvikssön is a Norwegian man at arms in the mid-14th century (1346), serving under a noble Duke in service to the English Crown of Edward III.
Tórstein is a simple man, preferring to do battle with his poleaxe or warscythe but can also be found picking up his sword and shield to rush into battle. He is happiest in the thick of it, but can also be found crafting in his downtime, conducting armor repairs, painting standards, or mending clothes of his fellow soldiers.
Although born and raised in the small village of Bremanger, Norway, most of his life was spent outside his homeland travelling. As a young man, his desire for adventure found him travelling across the known world. At one point, deep in drink in a foreign tavern, his tongue had gotten the best of him and he found himself set upon by foreign mercenaries, ready to take his life. It was during this moment that a man clad in armor stepped in and saved his life. Tórstein owed this knight a life debt and swore to serve this noble Duke until such time as his life was forfeit and so it was how a Norwegian man at arms found himself in battle under the English Crown.
