Persona

Torstein Hartvikssön (Armiger)(He/Them) is a Norwegian born in November of 1330. Much of their adult life was spent serving under a noble Duke sworn in service to the English Crown under the armies of Prince Edward of Woodstock.

Although born and raised in the small village, most of their life was spent outside their homeland travelling. As a young person, their desire for adventure found them travelling across the known world. At one point, deep in drink in a foreign tavern, their tongue had gotten the best of them and they found himself set upon by some of the local ruffians, ready to take their life. It was during this moment that a man stepped in and saved their life. After the altercation, the man revealed himself as a noble Duke, who was on a chevauchée for his King and country. Torstein owing this man a life debt, swore to serve this noble Duke until such time as their life was forfeit and so it was how a Scandinavian armiger found himself in battle under the English Crown.
Notable military engagements that Torstein served in:
Part of the vanguard at the Battle of Crécy in 1346;
The Battle of Calais in 1350;
The grande chevauchée of Edward of Woodstock in 1355;
The chevauchée of 1356, including the Battle of Poitiers.

Torstein is a simple person, preferring to do battle with their poleaxe or warhammer but can also be found picking up their sword and shield to rush into battle. They are happiest in the thick of it, but can also be found crafting in their downtime, conducting armor repairs, painting standards, or mending clothes of their fellow soldiers.
