Regency Court

From MiddleWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A court held on behalf on the king and/or queen when they cannot be present, and on their specific instructions, at which awards are given in their name. A regency court is normally held only by someone otherwise able to preside in court, e.g. a prince or princess, or a landed baron or baroness. It is not unknown for royal peers to be delegated in this way instead.

All of the awards given in a Regency court are worded as being from the reigning monarchs usually with the tag line of "and presented by Our heirs" or Baron/baroness, etc. as appropriate.
