The nose-guard of a helm, often decorated. Examples of decorations and different metals used span across much of the geography and time periods associated with the SCA. Notable nasal designs are the Spangenhelm used by Normans and men in the crusades, as well as the helmets used by vikings. Various different methods of etching and engraving would be used to decorate the metal, Brass or Bronze would often be used to further enhance the overall looks as well.
