Men at Arms

1. A Non-formal dependant of a Knight or Master of Arms. In some households or areas they might be given a blue belt or a black belt with a red stripe to wear, but this is not standard. While it is fairly standard in the Middle Kingdom that a Man at Arms be attached to a Knight, it is not unheard of in other kingdoms and may occur in remote areas of the Midrealm that squires take a man at arms.
A female fighter who enters into this sort of relationship is traditionally also called a Man at Arms rather than a Woman at Arms (or personal preference).
2. Any member of a Household or local groups fighting unit may also be referred to as a Man at Arms of that unit.
