The Battle of the Inland Seas (BOTIS) was an event regularly held by the Shire/Canton of Altenberg. It was typically held in May at Camp Rotary in Ray, MI.

The event is known for having a nautical theme and rapier scenarios involving a pirate ship, archery clout shoot, and being the first camping event of the new year in Pentamere.

The final event, BOTIS XXVI, was held May 21, 2022 and marked the last hurrah for Altenberg.
