Persona

Baroness Jervisa Wainwright, OP, CDH, CE, CW is an active member of the Middle Kingdom and a member of House Ironwolf and is a very talented artist, an extremely gifted and generous scribe, a fiber artisan and seamstress, a teacher, and a friend.

Jervisa is a Danish name, however, her persona developed as a Tudor era (c. 1535) German lady who married a successful English wagon-maker, hence the surname Wainwright.

She later learned that her actual ancestry was from the Jutland area of Denmark and became interested in Viking history and arts. Jervisa now often presents herself as a Danish woman.

Her name is pronounced "yer-visa"

Clay Spindle Whorls - Another ongoing project is clay drop spindle weights. Evidence of these are from Birka and Gotland archeology finds. She has already made one, but wants to make several more to compare fired vs not fired and see if it changes the way they function relative to the fibers being used.

Scribal Arts

Jervisa entered her first scroll competition in the Barony of North Woods in October 1992 (Possibly for Coronation). She won! And so began a very long and productive run as a Midrealm Scribe.

Completed Scrolls to Date = 570 and counting!

Jervisa began her art career at Age 3. This is a cat and a bird

For a sampling of her scrolls (including inspiration and materials), and awesome photos showing her pigment research please check out her website [1]

Fiber Arts
