James ap Llewellyn found the SCA in 1991 while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Over the following twenty years he travelled with his Wife and children through Atlantia, Caid, and the West before retiring and returning to the Middle Kingdom in 2008 where he now resides.

Persona
James ap Llewellyn is a 14th Century Welshman who has had all of his lands and possessions confiscated by the English for harboring a Spanish Knight. The Knight in question submitted himself to James and was offered safe conduct to his home. The English Crown frowned on the practice of offering succor to foreign Knights. Since that day James crossed the channel and has been fighting in France against the English.

- Cleftlands Standard Bearer – During the reign of King Savaric James was the standard bearer for The Barony of the Cleftlands. As the Barony of the Cleftlands was in transition that year James was the last champion for Baron Edward and Baroness Milisent and the first champion for Baron Callum and Baroness Constanza.
