Persona

Alays de la Salle (ah-LEIS dei-la sal) is a 14th century French woman born in the city of Perigueax in 1342. Her father was a travelling merchant, and she travelled with him to care for him, as he was a widower. While visiting Rome, Alays met her husband, Tariq, who was also a merchant and had travelled from the Ottoman Empire to sell his wares.
