Warlord tournament

A warlord tournament is a type of armored combat tournament in which all fighters take the field and fight a single opponent. The winner of the first round of a Warlord tournament becomes a "captain" and their defeated opponent joins them as part of a team of two. Each team of two then fights another team of two, also consisting of a captain and defeated opponent. The defeated team of this second round joins the first as part of a new four-person team, with the winning captain remaining as captain. Rounds of a warlord tournament then continue with defeated teams joining winning teams until only two teams remain on the field, regardless of the size of the teams. The winning team of the final round gains the privilege of declaring their captain the Warlord, and thus, the winner of the tournament.
