Sable

In heraldic terms Sable is a tincture. More specifically, it is the color black.

Secondly, a Sable is a member of the weasel family known for its dark, soft fur. As one of the darkest furs, it became symbolic of darkness and thus a natural choice to represent the color black. Modernly its fur is prized for paintbrushes.
