Recurve

A Recurve bow is a standard modern bow so named because the bow itself bends in a distinct curve when un-strung. (As opposed to Longbows which are straight when un-strung.) While most varieties of recurves are not completely historically accurate, Recurve bows are very popular as they are relatively easy to find for sale.

An example of an historical recurve is the Magyar recurve bow.
